Philosophy On Discipline I strongly believe in positive discipline. I also believe in consistency regarding discipline. I care for many different children, and I have to have rules and consistency to be fair. I will talk to the child regarding their behavior. After a verbal warning, a time-out by themselves will be used. The school-age kids will have to write sentences that pertains to the wrongdoing. At no time will slapping, spanking, or any other form of physical punishment be made to the daycare children. Philosophy On Teaching I follow my own curriculum, and have homework time for all children aged (approximate) 3 and up. I find worksheets online and through workbooks that I have. I work with the younger children, starting with letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. I have age[Hidden]grade appropriate worksheets for all children. I try to make this a learning atmosphere in many activities that we do. Philosophy On Toilet-Training When a child begins to show readiness in toilet training, I have either a potty chair (that sits on the floor), or a smaller seat that fits over the regular toilet, with a stool to help the child up.
